Stamps-Baxter School of Music

In 1992, I experienced a summer music school that helped shape the direction for the rest of my life. Ben Speer's Stamps-Baxter School of Music became the choice summer camp for the next five years. Not only is it a great place to sharpen ministry tools (music theory, ear training, vocal performance) but a place to make life long friends.

For two of those years I formed a quartet with John Rulapaugh of the Blackwood Singers formerly with the Palmetto State and Dove Brothers. What a great talent! We performed a song for the final concert on Friday evening, "Bells of Joy Keep Ringing". I still have the video of that performance. It was a lot of fun!

This past Sunday, Grace Church had the opprotunity to host the choir for our morning worship service. Over 130 members of the school participated in this amazing service. Special guests included Allison Durham Speer, Mary Tom Reid, and Ben Speer. It brought back a lot of memories and was a joy to have the school a part of the service. Ben has agreed to let this become an annual event for the school. Grace Church is already looking forward to next year!

It was a great pleasure to be a part of this event! What a blessing to be a part of the Grace Church Choir. God bless you Nathan! We at Grace are blessed to be a part of the now annual tradition of "Stamps-Baxter School of Music" performing at Grace.
